
Coaches are required to complete registration, general AYSO certifications as well as coach-specific training:

7. LiveScan fingerprinting
8. Safesport
9. Coach/Referee specific training
The detailed flow for a new volunteer:
1. register or sign in at
ayso109.org (Sportsconnect)
as a primary account holder- If you're not previously registered follow the instructions to create a login and then "Register Myself" as a Volunteer
- Use your legal first and last name
- There's no need for Additional Account Holder Information if you're not sharing your account with someone
2. If not already done, sign up to volunteer for the specific role/season
- example, "Select 2022 Spring Select"
- Then select which divisions your child is in (if a youth referee, select any division)
- Click on "View Selected Opportunities" then Select Role
- After selection say "Sign up [your first name]" then Continue
- NOTE: your Contact Information is then shown again. Make SURE that you are using your LEGAL first and last name that matches your ID. If you didn't enter your legal names at the beginning, you may edit that here.
- View and accept the following (by clicking on box and entering LEGAL first and last name for each):
- AYSO Kids Zone Pledge
- WAIVER, CONSENT, RELEASE, DISCLAIMER AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AGREEMENT
- Note this triggers an email from [email protected]sterlingvolunteers.com (although it says American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO)
- If you can't find it, check your SPAM folder
- Follow the instructions in that email to continue the background check
- COVID-19 Assumption of Risk, Waiver and Release of Liability Agreement
- The Training Items listed with a "+" are things we'll go over next, so you can Continue
3. complete all AYSOU Training

c. Sudden Cardiac Arrest - Online (under Safe Haven courses)
d. Coach or Referee specific online training (i.e. Regional Referee or 12U Coach)
6. attend Virtual and/or In-Person Coach/Referee Course
